Alan Hutton is delighted with his move from Tottenham to Sunderland and is determined to win a place in the Black Cats side.

The Scotland international has signed on loan for the rest of the season but there is every chance the deal will be made permanent if he shines during his time at the Stadium of Light.

Hutton is looking forward to some first-team action with Sunderland after a tough time with Spurs and is hoping to grab the opportunity with both hands.

"Everyone wants to play football and I'm no different," he said in the Daily Mirror. "But I know that, like anyone else, I'll have to give 110 per cent to show I'm worthy of a starting place.

"I'm over the moon to be here. When I was at Rangers the fans were superb and I'm sure Sunderland's will be the same."
