Tottenham are set to battle it out with Newcastle for the services of Blackpool's Tom Ince in January, according to reports.
Spurs have been after the England Under-21 star for the past 18 months and were rumoured to have had a late move for the player turned down on transfer deadline day.
The latest reports claims that Andre Villas-Boas will try again in the New Year to land the player although it is widely believed that Ince is going to let his present contract at Blackpool run out and then chose his next destination in the summer.
His father and manager, Paul Ince, has suggested that he needs to pick a club where he will get regular football, something that could not be guaranteed at Tottenham.
