Napoli may be planning a bid for Sandro after their president Aurelio De Laurentiis confirmed the Italian's interest in the Spurs man.
Tottenham are in no rush to sell the midfielder and have slapped an £11.3m price tag on the 25-year-old's head in an attempt to scare off potential admirers.
The Brazilian international had been a key player at White Hart Lane since joining the club back in 2010, until Tim Sherwood took over and froze him out of the first-team after publicly criticising the player.
Sherwood's successor Mauricio Pochettino will therefore have a job on his hands to convince the former Internacional star that he is still wanted at the club in face of interest from a team who will be competing in the Champions League next season.
De Laurentiis is determined to be ready for upcoming European campaign, and will leave no stone unturned in his search for players who can improve the squad he already has at Napoli.
He told Repubblica: "Sandro? He's one of our targets, but not the only one."
