Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has revealed that midfielder Sandro is close to returning to full training after six months out.
The Brazilian had established himself as a regular in the heart of the field for Spurs over the last year until injury ended his campaign prematurely.
Villas-Boas has already strengthened the midfield by signing Paulinho for a fee of £17million this summer and the two Brazilians could be forced to compete for a place.
Spurs will be looking to hit the ground running and have everyone available ahead of the new season; they take on Swindon Town in their first pre-season friendly on Tuesday.
Villas-Boas said: "Sandro hit six months last week and we are on plan.
"He's made an excellent recovery and we're very happy with him.
"One more week and he'll join the group and he will also join us for full training in Hong Kong."
