Milito snub offers Berb clue

Spurs striker Dimitar Berbatov could be set to stay at the club after Juande Ramos ended his interest in Real Zaragoza's Diego Milito.

Bulgaria ace Berbatov has been a long-time Manchester United target but they appear reluctant to break the bank for him which could explain why Tottenham have decided against a move for Argentina forward Milito.

Milito's agent Fernando Hidalgo told Diario Equipo: "There's no concrete offer for Diego and I don't think there's going to be one in the next few days.

"Tottenham was an option, but they are not anymore."

Milito, 29, suffered relegation from La Liga with Zaragoza last season but it appears the Spaniards are playing hard ball over his valuation.

Hidalgo added: "They are asking for an impossible price for a player of his age.

"We are still hopeful an important offer will be made, anyway it's improbable to see him moving during the transfer window."
