Harry Redknapp has hinted that he could return to Tottenham and take winger David Bentley to Queens Park Rangers.

Redknapp, who departed White Hart Lane at the end of last season, is already scouring the market for players to take to Loftus Road in the January transfer window as he attempts to pull off the great escape and keep the R's in the Premier League this season.

And, it appears that he could be ready to take 28-year-old former England international, Bentley, across London after admitting his admiration for the player.

Bentley struggled for first-team football under Redknapp during their time together at Spurs, but he has impressed during a loan stint at Russian side FC Rostov.

As a result, Redknapp could be set to give the former Arsenal trainee a chance to resurrect his career with QPR in the New Year.

"Bentley could play," Redknapp said. "He's a good player.

"It shows he must want to play football as he went to Russia.

"He didn't just take his pay-cheque. I had no problems with him.

"He was unlucky at Tottenham. He needs a fresh start. He can play David."
