Gylfi Sigurdsson has insisted Tottenham's players have not been affected by the speculation surrounding Gareth Bale this summer.
Bale is believed to finally be on the verge of a huge switch to Real Madrid after a summer-long chase which has seen the Spanish side court the winger and led to him privately asking the club to accept an offer and let him join the La Liga giants.
Publicly, Tottenham have maintained Bale is not for sale but it seems an agreement is finally in place and he will eventually make the move to the Bernabeu in a staggering deal in excess of £90million before the transfer window closes.
Despite all the speculation, Sigurdsson says the squad have carried on as normal - and proved it with a deserved 1-0 win over Crystal Palace in the season-opener on Sunday.
"I think we've dealt with [the Bale situation] quite well," he said. "The club has dealt with it really well as well.
"Us as players, we can't really do anything. We just keep training. We don't really think about who is coming in or who is leaving."
