Spanish top-flight outfit Rayo Vallecano have signed Tottenham winger Iago Falque on a season-long loan deal with an option to buy him.
The 23-year-old is highly rated in Spain after he impressed on loan at Almeria last season and Rayo moved quickly to get him after their winger Jose Carlos suffered a serious injury recently.
Rayo Vallecano have tried to sign Falque in two previous transfer windows but came up short on funds, however they have now agreed a deal that gives them the option to purchase him from Tottenham for a fixed price at the end of the season.
The Vigo-born player, who can also play in the hole, has travelled to Madrid and will be officially unveiled over the weekend in order to start training with Rayo's squad next week.
Falque was signed by Spurs in 2011 but only played five minutes for the club in the Premier League, although he was often used by ex-boss Harry Redknapp in the Europa League.
He helped Almeria achieve promotion to the Primera Division last season by playing in 18 Segunda Division games and scoring two goals in the regular campaign before competing in their four promotion play-off matches.
