Brad Friedel says he has had no thoughts of retirement and feels he can continue between the posts again for Spurs next season.

The American turns 41 in May but has shown this season that age is no barrier, as he continues to impress at the top level and remains at the peak of his physical powers.

The former Aston Villa and Liverpool shot-stopper has been Harry Redknapp's regular first-choice this term and Friedel sees no reason why that won't continue in the 2012-13 campaign.

Friedel is setting no specific targets as to how long he will be able to continue playing for, but feels he will keep playing as long as he is wanted.

Speaking in The Times, the goalkeeper stated: "How long can I play? Until no manager in the world wants to take me on.

"At 35, I probably would not have expected to be playing at 40. There is no secret except to eat well, discipline and work hard."
