Tottenham have blocked a move by Russian giants Anzhi Makhachkala to try and take Younes Kaboul on loan for the remainder of the season

The Russian transfer window closes on Friday so they can still sign players until then and Anzhi were trying to land Kaboul until the end of the season by offering him considerably more than he earns at the moment.

Spurs have blocked the move though as Kaboul has only just returned to training for the first time this season after he picked up a knee injury in pre-season, which has kept out of the side for the entire campaign.

Kaboul is out of contract at the end of next season but, if he proves his fitness, he is a certainty to be offered a new one.
