Tottenham are being linked with a move for Sevilla centre forward Álvaro Negredo as doubts surround the future of Emmanuel Adebayor.
Spurs have been linked with the player in the past when Harry Redknapp was in charge and reports claim Andre Villas-Boas could also make a move in the January window.
The Portuguese boss is on the look out for a new striker as Adebayor is thought to be unhappy with his lack of action at White Hart Lane and is seeking a move away.
Negredo is said to be a target and with a strike rate of roughly one goal in every two games in La Liga it is no surprise the 27-year-old is on the radar of Villas-Boas.
Seville would be reluctant to cash in on the Spanish international but may have to if Tottenham back up their interest with a firm offer when the window re-opens.
