Tottenham are lining up a move for Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho if Harry Redknapp leaves to become England boss.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy will be doing all he can to keep Redknapp in his current post and it is not a foregone conclusion that he would take the England job if it was offered.

But he remains the clear favourite and Levy knows it would be very difficult for Redknapp to refuse the post if it is offered and, according to the Daily Mirror, he is making plans to try and tempt former Chelsea boss Mourinho to north London.

Mourinho's future in Madrid has been in the spotlight for weeks although he does look set to lead Real to the title this season to end Barcelona's recent dominance.
