Tottenham face a major battle to land target Mehdi Benatia as he is also wanted by Juventus and Manchester United.
The Morocco international has been watched by scouts from Spurs on a regular basis as he plies his trade for Udinese and the player himself admitted recently he would be keen on a move to the Premier League.
Since then Scudetto champions Juventus have taken an interest and have apparently already opened talks with Udinese regarding the 25-year-old defender.
Spurs were ready to offer the £15m asking price when the transfer window opens but with Manchester United and now Juve both linked the chances of Andre Villas-Boas pulling off a deal look to be fading.
