Valencia boss Miroslav Djukic claims that Roberto Soldado is going nowhere, bringing an end to Tottenham's hopes of acquiring him.
Spurs were handed bad news on Monday when Atletico Madrid announced the signing of their top target David Villa.
Boss Andre Villas-Boas has made no secret of his desire to bring in another forward and Soldado, along with Aston Villa's Christian Benteke, is understood to be on his wish list.
However, Djukic has warned the north London club to stay away and insists that the man who netted 24 goals last term is staying at the Mestalla.
Djukic said: "Soldado is very important to us and I want him to lead this team.
"I think Roberto is going to stay with us. I am very calm about that. We have a good squad in place, but there is still some room to grow."
