Spurs have been linked with Feyenoord's Jordy Clasie but face a battle to secure his signature due to competition from Fiorentina.
Clasie is expected to leave Feyenoord in the summer in order to secure a move to one of Europe's top leagues and Spurs have been heavily linked with the 21-year-old.
However, Serie A side Fiorentina have already made their move and Spurs could be set to miss out on the Dutchman, who has made five appearances for the Netherlands to date.
Feyenoord are keen to keep hold of the highly-rated midfielder, but admit they could be forced to cash-in on Clasie if they receive an acceptable offer and the player makes it clear he wants to move on.
Feyenoord's technical director Martin Van Geel said: "We do not need to sell him, nor do we particularly want to, but we have to think of the player's ambitions and evaluate the offers from other clubs.
"There is an offer from Fiorentina, but we'll only discuss it at the end of the season. Right now the players must focus only on Feyenoord."
