Spurs in hunt for Depay

Last Updated: Thu, 07 Aug 2014 09:50

Tottenham are understood to be pursuing PSV winger Memphis Depay but will be forced to part with £15million for his signature.

Depay starred from the bench for Holland at the World Cup in Brazil and has attracted interest from a number of clubs around Europe.

The 20-year-old scored against Australia and Chile in the group stage before starting the quarter-final victory over Costa Rica.

PSV boss Phillip Cocu has urged the talented youngster to remain with the Dutch outfit for at least one more season to further his development.

However, Mauricio Pochettino is hoping to tempt the Dutchman to White Hart Lane with an improved pay packet.

Spurs are yet to launch an official bid for his services but it is understood that Pochettino regards Depay as a player that can play a big role in the Premier League next term.
