Spurs are still in the race to sign Christian Eriksen from Ajax after they denied an agreement was in place with Liverpool.
The Danish international is a target for both Spurs chief Andre Villas-Boas and Reds boss Brendan Rodgers and he looks certain to leave Amsterdam this summer after indicating he would not sign a new contract extension.
Ajax do not want his present deal to run out so they are likely to be open to offers but they have denied a deal is in place with Liverpool already.
Press spokeswoman Eefje Schepenkring said "We will send out a press release when there is an agreement. Also if there is only a deal between Ajax and the club. So at this time there is no agreement between Ajax and Liverpool."
Eriksen has made it plain in the past that he wants to play Champions League football and Spurs are far more likely to be able to offer that than Liverpool next season.
