Tottenham boss Andre Villas-Boas has checked out Hamburg striker Heung-Min Son as he ponders a potential January offer.

AVB is keen to add to his forward line this month as he looks for back-up for Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor and the 20-year-old has reportedly caught his eye.

Spurs did have an interest in Brazilian Leandro Damiao but his move to Internacional scuppered any chance of a deal and now he has turned his attention elsewhere.

It is thought Spurs would have to pay in the region of £8m to £10m for the South Korea international, who has so far scored six goals in the Bundesliga this season, if the boss does make a move for him this month.
