Spurs linked with strike ace

Tottenham are being linked with a move to land Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis but face a battle to land his services.

The 28-year-old frontman is coming to the end of his current deal in France and is not about to sign another which means he will be free to leave for nothing in the summer.

Italian giants Inter Milan are the favourites to sign him but Spurs are also interested, as are Newcastle, but the Italian media believes Inter will win the race.

Spurs apparently tried to sign Gomis last January as cover for the departing Jermain Defoe and may try again at the end of the current campaign if Inter stall on their move.
