Spurs make Reus top target

Tottenham have reportedly made Borussia Dortmund playmaker Marco Reus their number one target in the summer.

Spurs will face a battle for the 24-year-old's services in the close season as the BVB midfielder is also wanted by Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.

There is also the problem of persuading the Bundesliga side to part company with the player, who is valued at around £28m, as Jurgen Klopp has already had to deal with the departure of Mario Gotze to Bayern Munich, with star striker Robert Lewandowski set to follow suit this summer.

Tim Sherwood will also have to trim the wage bill at White Hart Lane to make room for Reus with a number of recent arrivals said to be up for grabs.

Lewis Holtby was snapped up for a mere £1.75m 12 months ago but has failed to make the grade and is one who could be offloaded, while summer arrivals Etienne Capoue, who cost £9.3m from Toulouse, and Nacer Chadli - a £7m arrival from FC Twente - are reportedly both up for sale.
