Swedish starlet Marcus Berg looks set to snub the interest of Spurs and move to Bundesliga outfit Hamburg.
The 22-year-old was the top scorer with seven goals at the European under 21 Championships in his home country which led to speculation he could make a move to the Premier League.
Berg, currently with Dutch side Groningen, was rumoured to be a target for Spurs, Aston Villa, Everton and Fulham but it now seems as if the youngster would prefer a move to German side Hamburg.
Groningen director Hans Nijland has revealed he has been in contact with the Bundesliga outfit and says Hamburg are Berg's preferred destination.
"Hamburg's interest is very serious," Nijland told Aftonbladet.
"I can confirm that we have had a personal meeting in Germany. Hamburg's interest is very serious.
"I am expecting a call from Hamburg any moment. Hopefully we can have a meeting in Groningen.
"We have discussed the clubs with Marcus and his agent Soren Lerby and have been advised that Hamburg is Marcus' first choice."
It is thought Groningen would be willing to let Berg leave for a fee of around £8.5million, which Hamburg are reportedly willing to match.
