Tottenham are preparing a bid for Hamburg's Heung-Min Son after extensively scouting the South Korean forward in Germany.
Spurs were linked to the 20-year-old star a few days ago and the rumours in Germany continue to grow over a potential £8million bid for the striker.
Spurs are in the market for a forward because Emmanuel Adebayor is off to the African Cup of Nations for up to a month and they need another front player to go alongside Jermain Defoe.
Son is seen as a more affordable option than Brazilian striker Leandro Damiao - who appears to have been priced out of a switch to White Hart Lane by Internacional.
Son, contracted to Hamburg until 2014, has scored six goals in 16 games this season and has been given a good recommendation by former Spurs star Rafael van der Vaart, a teammate at Hamburg.
He said: "Spurs always try to recruit the best talent from around the world. It's why they are almost top every year."
