Atletico Madrid defender Toby Alderweireld has emerged as a transfer target for new Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.
Pochettino will be handed a large transfer kitty to bolster his ranks over the summer and central defence is an area he is keen to strengthen as Spurs look to push for the top four.
Alderweireld would be a quality addition to the Tottenham squad and he may be interested in a move to White Hart Lane after struggling to break into the Atletico side last season.
Competition was fierce as the Spanish side won the league title and made it to the Champions League final before losing to Real Madrid, and Alderweireld could have similar problems next season.
Much will depend on the future of team-mate Miranda, who is wanted by Barcelona, and if the Brazilian does leave, then Alderweireld may sense he has a future at the Vicente Calderon.
Alderweireld's arrival at White Hart Lane would signal the end of Michael Dawson's time at the club, with Hull and Crystal Palace both keen to sign him.
