Ajax defender Toby Alderweireld says he wants to follow in the footsteps of Jan Vertonghen amid speculation Tottenham are after him.
The 24-year-old is thought to be on Spurs' radar after another impressive season in Holland, with Alderweireld helping Ajax secure a third successive Eredivisie championship.
Having enjoyed another good campaign in Amsterdam, the Belgium international is now looking to move on and admits a move to a Premier League club would interest him.
Tottenham aren't the only English side after Alderweireld, with Liverpool also thought to be tracking the central defender as they look to improve their defensive options.
However, the success of former team-mate Vertonghen at White Hart Lane might persuade Alderweireld to make the move to north London if Spurs come calling.
"Looking at the path [Vermaelen and Vertonghen] made, that is also the path I want to follow," Alderweireld told belgiumsoccer.be.
"Besides that, if no good clubs show up I will remain another year at Ajax.
"The Premier League is indeed the most fantastic league in Europe, but we shall see."
