Besiktas are said to be a step closer to signing Spurs striker Emmanuel Adebayor, according to reports from Turkey.
The Black Eagles are ready to make an offer to Spurs for the Togo international after apparently making progress in discussions over his wage demands, as he was reported to be on vast terms at White Hart Lane.
Just five goals last season was a poor return for the striker, who arrived from Manchester City last summer for a fee of around £5m, and Spurs would love to get his wages off their books.
Eagles president Fikret Orman has confirmed interest in Adebayor but stressed that the main transfer priority is signing an additional defender.
"We are interested in Adebayor however, our priority is to sign more defensive players right now," Orman said.
