Roman Pavlyuchenko says it is 'impossible' for him to stay with Tottenham and is demanding a move away from the club.

The Russian continues to be frustrated with his lack of first-team action at White Hart Lane this season and is set for showdown talks with boss Harry Redknapp over his future.

Russia take on Slovenia in the play-offs to decide who will make the World Cup in South Africa next summer but Pavlyuchenko may not make the squad even if they do qualify as his lack of action hampers his chances.

"I want to leave the club," said Pavlyuchenko. "It is impossible to remain there under the circumstances I find myself in. I have been sitting on the subs' bench for half a year and as a result lost a place in the starting 11 of the national team.

"And now hopefully we will get to the World Cup - who will rely on a forward who does not play? I want to play and not just warm the bench."
