Striker linked with Spurs exit

Turkish side Besiktas are set to make a move for out-of-favour Tottenham striker Emmanuel Adebayor when the transfer window opens.

The Togo frontman returned to the Spurs squad for last week's Europa Cup clash against Sheriff but looks to have little long-term future at the club.

Turkish giants Besiktas were interested during the summer although a deal failed to materialise but now their vice president Ahmet Nur Cebi has revealed that they will go back for the striker when the window opens in January.

"We were interested in Adebayor in August," Cebi told

"The club will target Adebayor again in January but it's difficult to sign such marketable players."
