Spurs' hopes of landing Rennes midfielder Yann M'Vila look to be fading after reports claimed he was on his way to Russia.

According to reports in L'Equipe, M'Vila could be on his way to Rubin Kazan in Russia rather than on his way to London where both Tottenham and QPR have been linked with a move for the player.

Everton were also said to be in the hunt for the 22-year-old but Spurs had been favourites to land the player as Andre Villas-Boas looks to add to his squad.

A knee ligament injury to Sandro, which looks like keeping him out for the remainder of the season, has increased the need for Spurs to add to their squad.
