Andre Villas-Boas looks as though he may miss out on midfielder Wesley Sneijder after Galatasaray announced they had opened talks.

The Dutch international midfielder looks almost certain to leave Inter Milan where he has fallen out with coach Andrea Stramaccioni and has not featured since September, he was even released on his winter break early, with Inter still having two games to play.

Both Liverpool and Manchester United were interested but Spurs appeared to be heading the queue in England although now a move to the Turkish Super Lig looks to be on the cards after Galatasaray claimed on their club website that talks were underway.

"Galatasaray announces it has begun negotiations with the FC Internazionale for the transfer of Wesley Sneijder," the statement said. "The public will be informed of developments."
