Real Madrid sporting director Zinedine Zidane says world-record signing Gareth Bale is not worth his £85.3million transfer fee.
Wales international Bale penned a six-year deal with Los Blancos after finally completing his huge move from Tottenham to the Spanish capital last week.
Zindane formerly held the title of the world's most expensive player when he swapped Juventus for Real Madrid in a £63million deal in 2001.
The former France international played a big part in luring the Spurs winger to Estadio Santiago Bernabeu this summer, but Zidane does not feel Bale is worth the huge fee which Madrid paid.
He said: "Ten years ago I was bought for £63m and I said I was not worth this.
"Now I would think that a player is not worth this. It's football, unfortunately it's incomprehensible with what is happening to pay so much."
