Ronnie Moore believes a summer focus on adding youth and pace to the Tranmere squad lies at the heart of their surprise status as early-season pacesetters.

Rovers entertain Yeovil this weekend unbeaten in 11 matches and looking down from the summit of npower League One.

Moore points to an added dynamism in his squad, with the likes of Abdulai Bell-Baggie and Joe Thompson coming in to compliment Prenton Park speed merchant Zoumana Bakayogo

"We changed it and what we did was went for a bit of pace," he told Press Association Sport. "We've got Zoom who can play at left-back or left-wing, we've got Bell-Baggie on the other side who's got electric pace, we signed Joe Thompson from Rochdale with pace.

"So we can obviously go away from home, sit tight and counter-attack teams and that's basically what we've done. That's been the difference for me."

He added: "As a team, as a unit, as a group, they give me everything. We've got a tremendous dressing room and they're a great bunch of lads to work with."
