Walsall chairman Jeff Bonser has told new boss Richard Money there will be cash available to strengthen the squad this summer.

Money's first job has been to reduce his squad with Andy Oakes, Dean Coleman, Simon Osborn and Taiwo Atieno all being released, but the gaffer has been told there is money to strengthen.

"There will be money for Richard to spend, but we'll have to sit down and have some discussions now we've reached the end of the season," Bonser said.

"It's obvious that Richard needs to assess what he needs and who he needs. But we're working on the basis he'll be requiring something like a 22-man squad."
