Saddlers go with Flo

Walsall have extended the loan deal of midfielder Florent Cuvelier from Stoke until the end of the season.

The Belgian has made three appearances since joining in January, scoring once, and Saddlers boss Dean Smith is delighted that Cuvelier will be staying at the Banks' Stadium.

"I'm really pleased that Flo is staying here," he told the club's official website.

"He's made a real impact since he has been here. I'd seen him a lot for Stoke's reserves so I knew what he was all about but, to be fair, for someone who has never made a senior appearance before coming here, he has slotted in like a dream."

Walsall are three points from safety and Smith feels they will need players of Cuvelier's ability to shine if they are to beat the drop.

"The lad is talented and a technically gifted player and he will have a key role to play between now and the end of the season. I thank Tony Pulis at Stoke for allowing him to remain with us," he added.
