Tony Bedeau says he left Torquay for Walsall because he felt like he needed a new challenge, as Richard Money closes on another deal.
The winger had spent the last 11 years at Plainmoor and felt a switch to Walsall would be a step in the right direction for his career. Boss Ian Atkins was hopeful of keeping the player but he has instead opted for a switch to the Saddlers who were relegated to League Two at the start of season.
"I have been at Torquay a long time and felt I needed a new challenge," the player revealed. "With respect to Torquay I see it as a step up,"
Meanwhile, Money is hoping to follow up the signing with a second deal.
"I am actively looking for new players in a number of positions," the gaffer added. "Another striker and a goalkeeper are the top priority but the signing of Tony is a good start and I am hopeful of having someone else on board pretty soon."
