Andy Morrell's agent has revealed two Championship rivals are on the trail of the Walsall target since being handed a free transfer.

The striker struggled to hold down a regular first team place for Coventry last term and is keen to kick-start his career with a move.

The Saddlers have confirmed their interest in the player but, while admitting location will be a factor, agent Lee Payne does not foresee Morrell dropping down in to League One.

He told the Express and Star: "There are a few options and Andy is taking his time. I don't think he wants to move the length of the country, but there are quite a few clubs interested.

"There are a couple of Championship clubs and a couple from League One who are interested. I would like him to go to a Championship club but it will depend a lot on location, so we'll just see what develops.

"It looks like he will definitely be leaving Coventry and I think he will make some decisions in the next couple of weeks."
