Hornets confirm star disciplinary rap

WatfordWatford say Al Bangura was sent home from a pre-season trip to Austria for disciplinary reasons and he'll miss the Crystal Palace game.

The 20-year-old midfielder, who was saved by the club from deportation back to his homeland of Sierra Leone during last season, is out of Adrian Boothroyd's plans for this weekend's Championship opener against the Eagles after his early return from Austria.

However, the Hornets have confirmed the matter has been dealt with and Bangura still has a future at Vicarage Road.

A club statement said: "The club can confirm Al Bangura returned home early from the recent tour of Austria for disciplinary reasons. These have since been dealt with internally.

"Al Bangura remains an important part of the Watford squad ahead of what is an important season for the midfielder."
