Watford have signed Carlisle striker Danny Graham on a free transfer, with the frontman penning a two-year deal at Vicarage Road.

The 23-year-old was linked with the Hornets earlier this week and Malky McKay has moved to capture the former Middlesbrough man, after his contract expired with the Cumbrians.

Graham, who has had loan spells with Leeds, Blackpool and Derby in recent seasons, scored 40 goals during his time at Carlisle, who he was on loan with before joining permanently in June 2007.

There is the prospect that Watford will need to pay some compensation to Carlilse for Graham, with negotiations between the two clubs ongoing.
