Young duo Isaiah Brown and Romaine Sawyers will be part of the West Brom squad at Chelsea because of injuries to first-team players.
Baggies boss Steve Clarke has confirmed that three senior players are big doubts for the trip to Stamford Bridge and that has created an opening in the travelling squad for 21-year-old forward, Sawyers, and 16-year-old midfielder, Brown, who is already a member of the club's Under-21 side.
On Brown, Clarke told the club's website: "He's done fantastic and has come through the youth team, quickly into the Under-21s, and has put on some really good performances recently.
"He might not be involved in the final selection but I think the experience of taking a 16-year-old down to Stamford Bridge will be good for the boy and good for the club."
Meanwhile, Romelu Lukaku is ineligible to face his parent club, while Clarke is still hopeful that Shane Long can prove his fitness in training on Friday following an ankle injury he suffered against Sunderland last Saturday.
But if he does not make it then Peter Odemwingie, Markus Rosenberg and Marc-Antoine Fortune will battle it out for the two striker berths.
Goran Popov will miss the trip to Stamford Bridge as he serves the final game of his three-match ban.
