West Brom have missed out on Anderlecht striker Dieumerci Mbokani who has agreed a move to Dynamo Kiev.
The highly-rated 27-year-old Congo international was heavily linked with a move to the Hawthorns at the end of last month and former loan striker Romelu Lukaku even advised him to make the switch to join Steve Clarke's men.
However, Albion have dragged their feet over making a move to sign Mbokani so the player has decided to repay Dynamo Kiev's faith in him by agreeing to put his Premier League aspirations on hold and he will make a move to the Ukraine.
He said: "I am delighted, it is another adventure and one I am excited about.
"I am coming here to improve and score as many goals as I can. Kiev are a huge club in this part of the world and a big name in Europe.
"My ambition was to go to England but the teams interested were not ready to meet the demands of my club.
"Kiev have shown that they want me more than anything, so that is why I decided to come here."
