West Brom are waiting to see if reported target Franco Di Santo will opt to make the move to the Hawthorns this summer.
Baggies boss Steve Clarke is still in the market for another striker despite the arrival of former Chelsea and France international hitman Nicolas Anelka on a free transfer at the start of the week.
Anelka's former Blues team-mate Salomon Kalou, who is currently plying his trade for Lille in France and would cost just over £2.5million, has also been linked, while Argentinian forward Di Santo is another possible target.
The 24-year-old has been released by relegated Wigan and there were previous reports that the Baggies had been in talks about a potential deal, along with Premier League rivals Swansea.
Di Santo has now confirmed that he will make a decision on where his future lies imminently.
He tweeted: "Soon I will have some news about my future in the next season !!! Positive 100%."
