West Brom are considering a summer move for Anderlecht forward Dieumerci Mbokani, who is keen to play in the Premier League.
Baggies boss Steve Clarke is searching for a replacement for Romelu Lukaku, whose impressive form on loan last season has led to Chelsea confirming he is set to stay at Stamford Bridge and compete for a place in Jose Mourinho's side next term.
Mbokani, a Democratic Republic of Congo international, is seen as a summer alternative and he has recently admitted he wants a switch to England.
"I want to play in England and I can confirm that there is some interest at the moment," he said.
"Let's relax and see what happens by the end of June."
Newly-promoted Hull are also keen on the striker but Albion are the front-runners at the moment to land him, although a potential stumbling block in the deal could be Anderlecht's big asking price, which is believed to be in the region of £15million. That is a figure they are unlikely to pay for a player unproven in one of Europe's top leagues.
Mbokani has hit a fairly impressive 17 league goals in just 35 appearances for the Belgian giants since joining them permanently in 2011.
