Baggies to watch Celtic ace

West Brom are planning to make a fresh check on Celtic winger James Forrest in action against AC Milan next week.

Albion scouts have been busy north of the border recently with trips to see Dundee United teenager Ryan Gauld in action for club and country.

But Celtic star Forrest, 22, is also on the club's radar after a stunning run of form at the start of the season and they intend to watch him in the SPL leaders' next Champions League match.

The Scotland international has started eight of the Hoops' 10 Champions League matches and scored vital goals against Shakter Karagandy and Ajax.

Cardiff City are thought to be the biggest rivals for Forrest at the moment after the Welsh club's manager Malky Mackay attended the 2-1 win over Ajax in which Forrest was man of the match.

Celtic have had to deal with English clubs watching Forrest for the past two and a half years and the Hoops hierarchy have always gone out of their way not to encourage bids.

They have never put an official price tag on his head but Parkhead sources insist no bids of less than £7million would be considered.
