West Brom are waiting to learn the full extent of injuries suffered by Gareth McAuley and Victor Anichebe against Hull on Saturday.
The pair were both forced off in the 2-0 defeat at the KC Stadium and are being assessed this week ahead of the big relegation clash against fellow strugglers Cardiff City on Saturday.
If they are ruled out, boss Pepe Mel's options for the weekend could be severely limited with up to five first-team players set to be absent.
The Spaniard is already without the suspended Jonas Olsson and injured duo Chris Brunt and Diego Lugano, while Billy Jones and Morgan Amalfitano missed the Hull game with hamstring problems and may well be ruled out again against the Bluebirds.
Mel will hope to get some good news on the injury situation as the week progresses and he admits he needs to have as many people fit as possible as they aim to survive in the final weeks of the season.
"There is a problem and it's a worry for us," admitted Mel. "We need everyone to be available for us at this stage of the season."
