West Brom manager Steve Clarke insists he will not rush back Shane Long and Claudio Yacob after substitute appearances against Everton.

Clarke has been without the Republic of Ireland international Long for the last three Premier League games, but he made an immediate impact after coming off the bench and scoring with his first touch in the 2-1 loss at Goodison Park.

Yacob was also brought off the bench after suffering a shoulder injury in his last league outing against Aston Villa.

The former Chelsea and Liverpool assistant admitted that it was good news to have the two players back in the squad but he will not be pressured into rushing them back.

"It was good for us that we got him [Long] back on the pitch last night," Clarke said.

"He's been out for a number of weeks and hasn't trained very much with the team.

"Claudio also got a bit more time on the pitch. Second half, he grew into the game and looked more like his old self.

"It's great to get them out of the treatment room but it doesn't mean they're ready and firing to play matches."
