Carson ready to return - Clemence

West Brom keeper Scott Carson deserves another chance to become the England number one according to Ray Clemence.

Carson has been recalled into the current England squad and is certainly the man in form after mistakes from Portsmouth's David James and West Ham's Robert Green recently.

Clemence believes the move to the Hawthorns has done the player the power of good, he said: "The move to West Brom has done Scott good, without a shadow of doubt.

"He did very well at Aston Villa last season but of course he was only on loan there.

"From a psychological point of view that's not good and then Villa decided they didn't want to take him.

"So he was left a little bit in limbo and then West Brom came in.

"I've seen him a number of times this season and you can see the lad's confidence growing week in, week out."
