Zoltan Gera is set to start as Steve Clarke is poised to make changes to his West Brom side for the New Year's Day clash with Fulham.
Gera was rested for Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Manchester United while James Morrison, Marc-Antoine Fortune and Romelu Lukaku all dropped to the bench in seven overall changes.
Jonas Olsson, Youssouf Mulumbu and Goran Popov missed the game because of respective injury problems and the trio will face a battle to be fit to face the Cottagers at the Hawthorns for the early kick-off on Tuesday.
However, there is a real chance that the players who did not start at Old Trafford will come into Clarke's starting XI for Albion's fourth game in a hectic 10-day period.
"I was looking ahead to the Fulham game before I picked my team for the last game," he said on the club's website.
"And I was looking ahead to the United game when I picked my team for the game before that.
"There are a lot of games in a short period of time.
"You have to use the squad as best as you can and make sure we don't falter and lose games."
He added: "I don't think any of the injuries we have are major or long term.
"If they're not ready for the next game some of them might have an outside chance for QPR in the cup and then, after that, it's a clear week before the Reading game - hopefully I'll be able to give the boys a couple of days off to rest and recuperate."
