Steve Clarke is reportedly looking to take Feyenoord striker Graziano Pelle to West Brom in the January transfer window.
The Baggies boss has been keeping tabs on the 28-year-old for some time after he impressed in the Dutch Eredivisie last term with 27 goals in 29 matches, while he has followed that up with an impressive 10 goals in nine so far this season.
Pelle is due to fall out of contract next summer and has not agreed to sign a new contract so it is being reported that Feyenoord are looking to offload him in January for around £500,000 before he will be able to leave on a Bosman free transfer at the end of the season.
Clarke has plenty of attacking options at the Hawthorns with Nicolas Anelka, Victor Anichebe, Stephane Sessegnon, youngster Saido Berahino, Shane Long, Matej Vydra, who is on loan from Udinese, and Markus Rosenberg all vying for places.
However, with Vydra possibly going back to his parent club next summer and Anelka edging towards the twilight of his career, a move for Pelle makes sense.
