Steve Clarke has confirmed that Liam Ridgewell suffered an ankle injury at Arsenal and Claudio Yacob missed out with hamstring trouble.
The West Brom chief issued an update on two of his key players after the 2-0 defeat at the Emirates Stadium which made it three successive losses for the Baggies in the Premier League.
Clarke revealed that left-back Ridgewell had to leave the pitch after just six minutes because of the knock to his ankle, while he did not want to risk Argentina international, Yacob, after he had played three games in eight days with a minor hamstring problem.
Yacob should be fit for Sunday's visit of West Ham to the Hawthorns, but Ridgewell faces a spell out so his replacement on Saturday, Goran Popov is set to continue.
"Liam felt a pain in his ankle and it was quite a severe one," said Clarke on the club's website.
"He actually felt a little bit sick as well through the pain he had so we took him off.
"Yacob picked up a little hamstring problem, probably down to the fact he had to play three games in a week, which was a tough week for us.
"He picked up a little niggle in his hamstring so we decided not to risk him."
