Steve Clarke has said that he is "not sure" if the injury Morgan Amalfitano picked up in West Brom's 4-1 loss at Liverpool is serious.
The Baggies boss had to substitute the summer loan signing from Marseille at half time in the defeat at Anfield after he had picked up a knock just before the break.
Clarke brought Scotland international midfielder James Morrison on for the second half and he converted Albion's consolation goal from the penalty spot to possibly stake his claim for a starting place against struggling Crystal Palace on Saturday.
And, when quizzed about Amalfitano's injury, Clarke revealed that he will have to wait for him to be examined by the club's medical staff before he knows how long he will be missing for, if at all.
"I'm not sure. I've not really had a chat with the doctor," Clarke said.
"He was indicating that he had an injury. We tried to get him to half-time but he said it was too bad, so we made the change.
"We'll assess him and see what the problem is."
