Defender set for knee scan

West BromWest Brom defender Neil Clement will have a scan on his knee injury to try and establish the cause of the problem.

Clement picked up the injury in the pre-season friendly against Real Mallorca and he has not played since so the club are anxious to find out the cause.

One plus point for Clement is that the injury is not to the same knee which has caused him so many problems in the past.

Boss Tony Mowbray told the Birmingham Mail: "I'd rather be vague on Neil's situation until after the scan.

"He's got a problem with his knee - the best case is he'll be back in the next week or so on the training pitch, working with the rest of the lads.

"Worst case is that he'll need an operation."
